Unless his school has a specific system they use, help your child set up a notebook to organize all his papers. Consider including the following items in his notebook:
A monthly calendar to record planned activities and project due dates. You can buy all sorts of calendars at office supply stores or you might want to download one from Microsoft Office Online. Make sure there is enough room for your student to write down important dates and make sure it is one he can commit to using daily.
An assignment book or assignment sheets for all subjects. Some schools sell assignment books. You can also find these at office supply stores, Target, or Walmart. Microsoft Office Online also has a simple one you can download. Again, it’s important to make sure your child or teen can commit to using it each day.
A pocket divider for storing all completed homework. Because this will be used daily, it’s best to choose one that is made of a durable plastic.
One pocket divider labeled for each subject. Place these in the order of your child’s day. This is the place to store all current class notes and all current graded homework. Again, durability is important.
